An Old Friend

The stein I used for this painting I purchased after seeing it in a store when I was a boy. I used money from my paper route to pay for it……about $5.00 as I recall.    

Musical Still Life

I have always loved the detailed paintings of William Harnett that include instruments, sheet music, books etc. I purchased a piccolo and used other items I have, as well as my wife’s pearls to stage this setting. I was attempting to achieve the degree of detail Harnett achieved in his paintings.    

Russian Still Life

I painted this as result of souvenirs I purchased while on a trip to the former Soviet Union in 1967. The samovar, matrioshka doll, and podstakan are all depicted.

Uncle John

One of my early attempts at portraiture, my Uncle John was one of the most influential people to encourage me to pursue my art work. This portrait was the result of a photo I have that was taken of him during WW2.
