Grandpa’s Shelf

I painted this still life from props I have accumulated through the years. The razor resting on the towel on the lower left belonged to the father of Marcel Carrascosa. Marcel was a former boss and he owns this still life that hangs in his home in Pearland Texas.

Edgar Town Lighthouse

unnamed

Got a call today from Sugar Land Airport and this painting sold today! I briefly spoke with the buyer who said that he is purchasing the painting for his Mom. He said that she already has a painting of a lighthouse on Cape Cod and he said this one will be a perfect companion for it. He was very complimentary saying I did a marvelous job painting it. It sounds like they may have relocated from the Cape and these paintings together will serve as a bit of nostalgia for them. Apparently his Mom is sick and may not be with us much longer……he said that after she passes he will then keep the painting and “treasure it”. Needless to say, I was very pleased and flattered that he liked my painting so well. I told him that my oldest son lives on Martha’s Vineyard and that the painting is based upon a pic I took while there on vacation. He said that he knows the very spot from which I took the photo! He will pay for it by check that he’ll mail to me. It sold for $ 95.00.
