Although the wall placard beside the painting claimed it to be a Rembrandt, I was never able to find it in any of the many books I own on Rembrandt. The placard pointed out that Rembrandt was right handed but in this painting he is holding the palate, brushes, and mall stick in his right hand which would indicate that he used his left hand to paint. At any rate I have never been able to find neither the original painting nor any information about it so this painting continues to be a mystery.
